About Take Root Wi

About TRW

Take Root Wisconsin emerged from a statewide Treasurer’s task force that identified a critical need for reliable housing resources and program information for Wisconsin homeowners. This program serves 71 counties across Wisconsin, while Milwaukee County is supported by a separate initiative called

Take Root Milwaukee (takerootmilwaukee.com).

Take Root Wisconsin connects homeowners with public and private sector resources designed to help you buy, keep, and fix your home. Backed by a strong network of housing advocates, community action programs, realtors, lenders, and other stakeholders across rural Wisconsin, the program offers comprehensive support for housing needs.

Key features of the program include:

  1. Housing Counselors: Providing free, professional guidance to homeowners.

  2. Local Resource Connections: Directing you to trusted local resources for home buying, mortgage or property tax delinquency assistance, and home repairs.
